When you look good you feel good

It might seem vain, but we believe there's nothing that gets you out the door to the gym when you're not feeing it like a nice gym 'fit.

Wearing an outfit that makes you feel like the best version of yourself not only makes you more excited to show it off at the gym, but we also swear it helps us stay motivated throughout our workout.

When we see someone rocking a matching set at the gym we can't help but envy their put together-ness, so instead of coveting their style jealously we're trying to source some of the most stylish sets for ourselves.

We don't gate keep at Women's Health, so we've rounded up all our favourites brands for you to peruse if you're into the matching set look too.

Adanola has been around since 2014 but in the past year it has become the activewear choice for style conscious gym goers. In fact, you'll often have to sign up to a waiting list before you can get your hands on some kit, it's just that popular.

This olive green set has been made with a lightweight, four-way stretch fabric that is flatteringly sculpting while still being super comfy. The cross back bra offers medium support (think more hot girl walks and pilates rather than smashing out a 5k) and has been made with a sweat-wicking fabric that's perfect for dealing with perspiration.

The leggings in particular have caught our eye with no front seam to exacerbate any camel toe action, and two lengths available to choose from. They're also fully squat proof, which is a non-negotiable when we're shopping for leggings.

Don't get us wrong, we love wearing something pink and pretty while we're working out most of the time - but sometimes we want to wear something a little more hardcore.

The Adapt Camo seamless sports bra and legging set from Gymshark comes in four camouflage printed shades, but our personal favourite is definitely the dark green colour way. Something about it makes us feel like we could be heading off to film a season of SAS: Who Dares Wins rather than to our Wednesday night yoga class.

A supportive high waist and raunch detailing on the bum make the leggings flattering, with a squat proof fabric that's perfect for those who enjoy a big lifting session.

The brain child of fitness entrepreneur Stef Williams, SEFI makes fun, funky, and functional activewear in a variety of prints that you can either mix and match or coordinate the top and bottoms.

Stef created SEFI because she wanted clothes that could be worn as activewear and streetwear, and she found there was a gap in the market for gym wear that fit properly, enhanced performance and was really flattering.

As well as leggings, shorts, and sports bras, SEFI also has some spandex body suits we really like the look of, with a flattering silhouette that would fit in just as well at cocktail night with the girls as it does in the gym.

Lululemon is a firm favourite at Women's Health, with some of the team swearing they've had the same tights for coming up on a decade. The quality of the garments speaks for itself, but with the quality does come from a higher than normal price point.

Investing in expensive gym wear once every few years rather than buying inexpensive pieces that only last for a few washes is better for the environment, and overall your wallet, but we understand it can be hard to justify spending upwards of £130 on a gym set.

We're big fans of this pink set, with the flattering V-waist pants and long line bra that will flatter the waist and enhance an hourglass silhouette.

Known in the UK as one of the most sustainable gym wear brands on the market, TALA aims to fill a gap in the market with environmentally friendly and (relatively) reasonable prices.

This cornflower blue caught our eye because we hadn't seen anything like it before. Most of the gym sets out there are crop tops with tights or shorts, so we liked the option of a longer top for when we don't feel like flashing out midriff.

The fabric for the top and tights is luxuriously soft and made with majority recycled materials, and the top has built-in support that is great for going braless during lower impact workouts.

Rather than just grading everything up from a size 8 like many brands do, TALA has adjusted their clothing to ensure it is flattering for the entire range from 2XS - 4XL.

This set was designed as part of the Project Rock collection from Under Armour, so each piece has been personally approved by the fitness fanatic himself Dwayne Johnson.

The sports bra is best suited to medium-impact activities such as cycling, boxing, walking, and weight training, with mesh panels for breathability and Under Armour's famous HeatGear fabric for keeping you feeling cool and dry.

The leggings have four-way stretch that moves with you throughout your workout, with a fast-drying material that can handle even the sweatiest of training sessions.

One of Australia's favourite activewear brands, P.E NATION is a hybrid of leisure wear and gym wear with stylish designs that can be worn out and about as well as while you're training. If you're the kind of person who tends to run their errands before the gym and don't want to get changed, P.E NATION is the brand for you.

Stocked on Selfridges in the UK, we're lusting after this lilac number we think would be great for pilates, yoga, and other low-impact workouts.

We think you'd be hard pressed to find a workout set more flattering than this New Balance one. The V-Waisted leggings and the long line hem of the crop, along with the wide logo band along the edge make this set stylishly sporty.

New Balance's NB DRYx technology has been used to make this set, which works hard to keep you dry so you can focus on your workout instead of wiping away sweat.

Especially for those with wider hips and thighs, bootcut gym trousers can be very flattering and help to accentuate an hourglass figure. This pair from Sweaty Betty has a high waist and wide waistband for extra tummy support and a bum sculpting cut that flatters the derrière.

The matching sports bra is sweat-wicking and quick-drying, with a scooped neck line and a medium level of support.

Cooler weather calls for long sleeve workout tops like this crop-top from Nike. The top and the matching leggings are made from soft, stretchy fabric that provides all day comfort.

The fabric of this set is sweat-wicking, drawing away moisture from the skin to keep you cool and dry during your workout.

We'd never really considered mustard a must-have colour in our workout wardrobe, but this set from Adidas has made us reconsider.

Designed for HIIT workouts, the sports bra has a high level of support that will keep your boobs in place while you run and jump your way through your training regime.

The tights are well ventilated for breathability and have four-way stretch fabric that moves with you through even the toughest of gym sessions.

Don't want to spend over £100 on your gym fit? That's fair enough. If you're on a budget but still want a slick looking matching gym set, H&M is a good place to look.

This bubblegum pink sports top and leggings set would come to just under £37 together, which is far cheaper than most of the other options on this list.

H&M's DryMove fabric is breathable and sweat-wicking, working hard to keep you cool while you're working out.
